Asiatic Engineering Works

Asiatic Engineering Works is located in Basti Bawa Khel, right on Kapurthala Road. It’s an older part of town and the road can get pretty congested with all kinds of vehicles. Our workshop has been here for years, and it looks like a place that has seen a lot of work. We do engineering stuff, mostly repairs and making parts that people can’t find elsewhere. The walls are stained with oil and there are metal shavings all over the floor, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the job. We have some old lathes and milling machines that still run great if you know how to talk to them. The staff here isn't very big, just a few of us who know our way around a blueprint and a wrench. We don't really have a sales department. Usually, someone just walks in with a broken part and asks if we can fix it or make a new one. We take a look, tell them if we can do it, and get to work. Kapurthala Road is always busy, so there is a constant hum of traffic outside our doors. Sometimes we sit outside on stools during our breaks just to watch the people go by. It’s an honest way to make a living and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time without needing much change. We just keep the machines running and help out whoever stops by with a problem.
