Bonton School

Bonton School is at 3/15 on Oppilathamman Kovil Street in Ariyalur. The street is usually busy because of the temple nearby, so there is always something going on outside our doors. Our building isn't very large, but we've organized it so there is enough room for the different classes to meet. We have kids of various ages coming in from different parts of Ariyalur, some from quite close and others from a bit further out. It is a typical local school where everyone knows everyone else's business after a while. The classrooms are simple with wooden benches and plenty of windows to let in the air, which is good because it gets hot in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to carry on with the doors open. We don't have a lot of the high-tech stuff you see in big city schools, but the teachers are dedicated and the students seem to manage. There's a small courtyard where things happen during the breaks, and it's always full of energy. The walls have some drawings on them from the kids and we try to keep things organized despite the usual chaos of a school day. It’s a busy place with a lot of voices and the sound of bells ringing to mark the hours. Most of us have been here for years, and it's just how life is on this street. It’s a normal place to be.
