In Village Neer, which is near Tapovan, you will find us at Shri Surat Singh’s place. It’s a quiet area compared to the busy streets where the tourists go to see the temples. We called it Superfarmers Innoventures because we wanted to try some new ways of farming, but at the end of the day, we are still just working the land. The soil in this part of Uttarakhand can be tricky, so we spend a lot of time testing things out. We don’t have a big fancy laboratory. Our lab is basically just a patch of dirt where we see what grows best. It is simple work, really. We wake up early, check on the plants, and talk to the people who live nearby. Tapovan has a certain energy, but out in Neer, it is more about the practical side of things. We have to deal with the wild animals coming out of the forest sometimes, which keeps us on our toes. The name might sound modern, but our methods are mostly just what we learned from our fathers, mixed with a little bit of new stuff we read about. We don't have a big staff. It's just a few of us who know the area well. We like it that way because we can keep an eye on everything ourselves. If you walk past Surat Singh's house, you will see us out in the fields or near the shed.
