The Pratiyogita Classes

The Pratiyogita Classes is located in Bhikhana Pahari. We are right opposite Devarun Appartment, which is a big landmark around here. Patna is a place where everyone is studying for something or the other, and we are just part of that scene. The building we are in is quite old and has that typical Patna feel to it. You can hear the rickshaws and the street vendors all day long. It's not a quiet place, but it's where things happen. We focus on competition exams because that’s what students in 800004 are looking for. We don’t have fancy chairs or air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just benches and some whiteboards. If you are looking for a place that looks like a corporate office, this isn't it. We are just local people helping out with the syllabus. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait for the generator to kick in. It’s part of the life here. Most of us have lived in Patna all our lives, so we know how it goes. The Pratiyogita Classes is just our way of staying busy and helping the kids nearby. We don’t make big promises. We just show up every morning and go through the books. It’s honest work in a crowded part of town. People often drop by just to ask about exam dates or books, and we help them out.
