Sri Ram Store

If you are traveling down Sandalpur Road in the Kumhrar area of Patna, you’ll see Sri Ram Store. It’s a small, local shop that’s been around for some time. We deal in all the basic stuff like grains, pulses, soaps, and snacks. The shop is quite humble. There are no big glass windows or air conditioning. We just have the metal shutter and a few ceiling fans to keep the air moving. Most of our day is spent weighing out portions of rice or lentils for customers who prefer to buy in bulk. We also have plenty of small packets for those just stopping by for a quick snack. The location is convenient for the people living in the nearby lanes. It gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on Sandalpur Road, so we are always dusting off the jars and packets. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that people need bread, eggs, and milk every day. It’s a simple life. We talk to the neighbors, hear the local news, and keep the store running. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a torch to find things, but we make do. It’s just a regular part of the day for us here in Kumhrar. We don't mind the noise from the street; it's just part of being here. The store stays open until late evening when the street gets a bit quieter.
