Shrisai Hospital

Shrisai Hospital is tucked away at Plot No. DS/2, right behind the Geological Survey of India building. We are also opposite the Mahendra Lok Apartment, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. The area is often called Sai Hospital Chow because we’ve been here long enough that people started naming the junction after the place. It’s a bit of a busy intersection with cars and rickshaws going by all the time. The hospital itself is a practical building. We have several floors and we use every bit of space we have. Inside, it smells like cleaning supplies most of the time, which is probably for the best. Our staff members are usually in a hurry, moving from one room to another with clipboards. We don’t have much in the way of fancy waiting rooms, just rows of benches for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to switch over to the generator, which makes a bit of noise, but it keeps things running. We see a lot of families from the Mahendra Lok apartments and the surrounding streets. People come to us for all sorts of reasons. We just try to keep the queue moving and help the people who walk in. It’s a lot of routine work, checking temperatures and filling out forms, but it’s what we do every single day here at the chow.
