Sheikpura Kirana Store

If you live near the Shiv Mandir on Beli Road in Patna, you probably know where Sheikpura Kirana Store is. We have been operating from this spot in Sheikhpura for quite a while now. It is a local shop where we sell everyday groceries like oil, flour, and spices. The area stays crowded because of the temple nearby, especially on certain days of the week when more people come to pray. Our shop is simple. We don't have those fancy displays you see in malls. We just have bags and containers of things people use in their homes every day. My brother and I take turns sitting at the shop from morning until late evening. It is hard work staying on your feet all day, but it is how we make our living. We get our supplies from the main market and try to have enough stock so nobody has to go back empty-handed. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a torch or a small light to find things for customers. The road outside is always dusty and full of traffic, which is just how life is in Patna. We talk to our neighbors and regular customers about their families while we weigh the sugar or pack the lentils. It is a basic way of doing business, but it works for us. We are just part of the neighborhood here near the temple and we plan to stay.
