Rausan Kirana Store

Rausan Kirana Store sits right in the middle of Hanuman Market on Mithila Road. We are in the 800018 area of Patna, not too far from the Hanuman Mandir. Most people around here just stop in when they are headed to the temple or coming back from work. We have all the usual kirana items like different types of lentils, sugar, tea leaves, and local snacks. It’s a bit crowded in the market, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays because of the temple crowds. We try to keep the store organized, but when several people are asking for things at once, it can get a little messy behind the counter. My family helps out with the lifting and the billing. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the basic needs of the people remain the same. They want fresh stock and a fair price. Sometimes the lights go out and we have to use a torch to find the right spice packet, but we manage. It is just a regular shop for regular people. We don't have big signs or anything, just the stuff people need for their kitchens every day. If you live around Mithila Road, you’ve probably walked past us a hundred times and maybe didn't even notice the name on the board, but we are there every day.
