Kaveri Bhawan is where you’ll find us, specifically at number 44 in Keshari Nagar. It’s a bit of a walk if you’re coming from the main part of Patel Nagar, but Mithila Colony is a decent enough area. The building itself is sturdy. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and people staring at thick books. If you’ve ever seen someone preparing for the IAS, you know how they look—a bit stressed and very tired. We don’t have any fancy lounge or anything. There’s a bathroom down the hall that sometimes has a leaky tap. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving because Patna summers are no joke. We spend a lot of time organizing the schedules and making sure there are enough printouts for everyone. It’s a quiet place because people are trying to concentrate, which is hard with the city noise outside. We don’t do much advertising; usually, someone just tells their cousin about the place and they show up a week later. The desks have some scratches on them and the lighting is just those regular tube lights. It’s a plain environment, but it serves the purpose for anyone who needs a spot to sit and study for hours on end. Sometimes we stay open late if there’s a big exam coming up, just so people have a place to stay.
