Mukul General Store

If you head down to Karbighaiya Station Road in Patna, you’ll find Mukul General Store. We are pretty close to Santosh Guest House, which is a good landmark if you’re new to the area. This part of 800001 is always buzzing because travelers are coming and going from the station. The shop is small and a bit crowded with boxes. We try to keep everything from bottled water to soaps and basic groceries. The noise from the trains and the horns outside never really stops. We’ve got a couple of old chairs out front where sometimes the neighbors sit and talk for a bit. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things. We don't have a fancy billing machine, just a calculator and a notebook. Sometimes the dust from the station road gets everywhere, so we are always wiping down the glass jars. It’s hard to keep the place looking perfect when it’s this busy. We just focus on having what people ask for. If we don’t have it, we try to get it by the next day. It’s a plain, honest shop that serves the locals and the people staying at the guest houses nearby. Nothing more to it than that. We open up early and don't leave until the street gets quiet. Sometimes the guests from the Santosh Guest House come in late looking for a snack, and we try to stay open for them.
