Kavita General Store

We are located on Nala Road in Patna, close to the Mahavir Asthan temple. The pincode for our area is 800004. Being near the temple means there is always a lot of movement on the street. We can hear the bells and the music from the Asthan throughout the day. Our general store is a small room with a lot of shelves. We keep many different things that people need for their homes. The counter is near the door so we can see everyone who walks by on Nala Road. The traffic can be quite heavy, with many buses and autos. We have a few old chairs in the back where we sit when there are no customers. The walls are painted white but they have become a bit gray over time. We spend time every day organizing the stock and checking what needs to be ordered. The sun shines directly into the shop in the morning. It is a simple place and we have been here for a while. Many people from the neighborhood stop in on their way to the temple. We know their faces and sometimes we talk for a minute. The work is not difficult but it requires us to be here for many hours. We just keep the store open and wait for people to come in. Patna is a busy place and Nala Road is no exception to the noise. It’s a practical life.
