Jyoti Punj Hospital

The hospital is located on Boring Road, right near the H.D.F.C. Bank building. If you know Boring Road, you know it’s one of the busiest spots around, and finding a place to pull over can be a real headache. We have been in this spot for a good while. The building is large enough to handle a lot of people, and we are usually full from morning until late evening. You can see the bank from our front entrance. Inside, the hallways are narrow and there is always a nurse or a ward boy rushing somewhere with a clipboard. We have the usual hospital sounds—the beep of monitors and the chatter of families in the waiting area. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We try to keep the floors clean, but with so many people coming in from the dusty road, it’s a constant battle. Our team works in shifts, and we often drink our tea standing up because there’s so much to do. We don't use any fancy talk here. We just look at what’s wrong and try to fix it. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a relief during the summer months on Boring Road. It’s a tough job sometimes, and the days feel very long, but we are a part of this street now. We just keep the doors open and do our best for whoever comes through the entrance looking for some help.
