Education Career Centre

Out here in Rupaspur, things move a bit differently than the center of the city, but Bailey Road is still a mess during rush hour. We are easy enough to find if you know the Sheikhpura area well. The office is basically just a place where we sit down and talk about what people want to do with their jobs or schooling. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. We have some files, a couple of old computers, and a lot of pens that always seem to go missing. Most of the afternoon is spent answering the same questions about which course is better or how to apply for things. It’s a lot of paperwork. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but nobody really complains. Students come in looking a bit lost, and we just try to sort through their papers with them. It’s a lot of talking. The floor gets a bit dusty because of the construction nearby on Bailey Road, so we sweep a lot. It’s just a normal spot in Patna where folks come when they aren't sure about their next move in their career. We’ve been in this building for some time, and the neighbors are all used to the constant stream of young people coming in and out every day.
