Universal Trading Co is on Dargah Road, Po: Mahendru, Patna- 800006, Bihar, India. We’ve been here for a long time. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things because we trade in a bit of everything. It’s not a big supermarket; it’s more of a traditional trading spot. We have stacks of boxes almost reaching the ceiling. It might look like a mess to someone walking in, but we have a system for where things go. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people shouting. It’s just the way Patna is. We open up early in the morning and stay open until the evening. We get a lot of regulars who stop by just to say hello or ask about what’s new in stock. We don't have a website or fancy ads. We just talk to people. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to use flashlights to find what we’re looking for. It’s part of the charm, I guess. We handle the paperwork by hand mostly. There’s an old ledger on the desk where we write everything down. My nephew helps out with some of the heavy lifting when the trucks arrive from the outskirts. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to provide what people are looking for at a fair price. If you’re ever walking on Dargah Road, you’ll see our sign. It’s a bit faded now, but it’s still there. That’s just us.
