We’ve been working out of Barh for a while now, right near Court Chowk. It’s a busy spot, especially with all the people coming and going from the court every day. My father, Ambika Singh, started things off and we’ve just kept it going from our house at number 122. We do a mix of things, mostly handling construction and fixing up interiors for people around here. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a practical place where we get the work done and talk to neighbors who need help with their buildings. Some days it’s quite noisy outside with the traffic, but we’re used to it by now. We take on projects locally and sometimes a bit further out if the work is right and we have the hands for it. People know us by name around the chowk. We don't really do much advertising because most folks just walk in or call us because they saw a site we worked on down the road. Building things in Bihar has its own set of challenges, like getting materials on time when the roads are blocked or during the monsoon when everything slows down to a crawl. But we manage. We’ve got a small crew of guys who have been with us for years. They know how we like things done. It’s simple work, really—just making sure the walls are straight and the finish is decent enough for people to live in.
