Rama Tea Company

Patiala is a good place to be. We are right by Kila Chowk, near Guddmandi. The area is always loud with people buying and selling stuff. We deal with tea. You can smell it as soon as you walk in. It’s a dusty, busy part of town but that’s where the business happens. We open early in the morning. My father started this and now we just keep it going. There are bags of tea everywhere. We weigh things out and package them for the local shops. It’s not a high-tech operation. We use old scales mostly. The shop is small and the walls could use some paint, but the tea is what matters. Customers come in and sit for a bit. We know most of them by name. It’s a community. Sometimes the traffic in the chowk is so bad we can't get the delivery van out. We just wait. It gives us time to have another cup of chai. We don't spend money on ads. People find us because we’ve been here forever. It’s honest work. We get tired by the evening, but it’s a good kind of tired. Rama Tea Company isn't a big corporation. It’s just a family business in the heart of Patiala. We keep things simple and try not to overcomplicate the day. That’s our way of doing things. We don't have a fancy website or glossy brochures, just real tea for real people.
