Patiala Soda Water Factory

The Patiala Soda Water Factory has its home in Field Ganj, on Old Jail Road. We’re right opposite Kucha No. 9, which is a busy little spot. This area has a lot of character, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. Making soda water is an old-school business, and our factory reflects that. We have the glass bottles, the carbonation tanks, and the constant hiss of gas. It’s not a quiet place, and it’s certainly not a modern one. Everything is built for utility. We spend our mornings cleaning bottles and our afternoons filling them up. The floors are usually a bit wet, and there’s always a crate that needs moving. Being on Old Jail Road means there’s a lot of traffic and people passing by our doors all day long. We don't have a big corporate office or a "vision statement." We just have the soda and the machines. Most of the people around here have been buying from us since they were kids. It’s a simple, honest business. We don’t try to make it sound like anything more than what it is. We work hard, we get the soda out to the vendors, and we close up when the work is done. It’s a rough-and-ready kind of life, but it suits us just fine here in Field Ganj. The rhythm of the machines is the background music to our lives, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
