R. S. Marbles

We have been running R. S. Marbles out of B-1, Focal Point for quite some time now. It is a busy spot and there is always something going on with the trucks coming in and out. The yard gets pretty dusty because of all the stone being moved around, but that is just how it is in this line of work. Most of our days are spent checking the stock and helping people who walk in looking for something specific for their floors. It is not a flashy setup. We mostly just have the slabs leaned up against the walls and the smell of wet stone in the air from the cutters. Sometimes the sun hits the Focal Point area hard in the afternoon and we have to take a longer break in the shade. It takes a lot of strength to move these pieces, so we stay pretty tired by the end of the shift. We do not have any big sales pitches or fancy brochures to show you. People just come by, look at the marble, and we tell them what we have available right then. It is a straightforward way to earn a living. The neighborhood knows us and we know the other guys working nearby. If you are around this part of town, you will see our sign. We keep the gates open most of the day unless it is raining hard. It is just us here, working with the stone and making sure the orders go out when they are supposed to. We plan to stay here for a while, just handling marble and helping out with local building projects. It is good work.
