Sanjeevani Hospital

Over in Kollakadavu, near Chengannur in Kerala, you’ll find us at Sanjeevani Hospital. This part of Kerala is beautiful, though we spend most of our time inside the hospital walls. The air is often thick with humidity, and during the monsoon, you can hear the rain drumming hard on our roof. It’s a sound we’ve all grown very used to. Our hospital isn't a towering glass structure; it’s a more traditional building that fits right into the Kollakadavu area. We have a lot of people coming in from the surrounding villages near Chengannur. They come by bus or on foot, and we try to make sure they don't have to wait too long in the heat. The hallways are narrow, and we’ve had to shuffle furniture around more than once to make more room for patients. Our team speaks the local language and knows the local customs, which makes things easier for everyone who visits. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just have a commitment to showing up and doing the work. The fans spin all day long to keep the air moving, and there’s usually a bit of chatter near the front desk. It’s a humble place, and we like it that way. We just want to be a reliable spot for the people of Chengannur when they need us.
