I started this sales business here in Pathanamthitta because I saw a need for someone who actually knows the local market in Kerala. It is a beautiful part of the country, but doing business here requires a lot of travel on those winding roads. Most of my day is spent on the phone or driving out to meet people face-to-face. I don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Instead, I work out of a modest office space where the paperwork is usually piled a bit high. Selling things isn't about fancy speeches for me. It is just about knowing what someone needs and seeing if I have a way to get it for them at a fair price. Some days are slow and you wonder if the phone will ever ring, and then other days it won't stop. I’ve lived in Kerala all my life, so I understand how people here like to do business. They want to know who they are talking to before they buy anything. I try to keep things simple and direct. No one likes a pushy salesperson, so I just show what I have and let the product speak for itself. It can be a long day sometimes, especially when the weather is humid and you're out visiting clients, but that's just part of the job. I’m glad to be working in my hometown area of Pathanamthitta and seeing the locals every single day.
