Gadre Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd. is based out of Fp-1 in the MIDC area, specifically the Mirjote Block. It’s a large industrial zone, so there are always trucks coming and going. We focus on marine exports, which means a lot of processing and packing. The facility is big and can get quite cold because of the freezing units we need for the fish and other seafood. We wear heavy jackets even when it’s hot outside. The smell of the sea is everywhere here. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We have a lot of people working on the lines, and it’s a lot of repetitive movement to get everything sorted and packed for shipping. We don't really talk about ourselves in fancy ways. We’re just a part of the MIDC community in Mirjote. The days start very early because the fresh catch comes in and needs to be handled immediately. If we’re slow, things aren't as good as they should be, so we have to move fast. Our office is just a small part of the whole building, mostly used for keeping track of the export papers and shipping schedules. It gets loud with the machinery, so you have to raise your voice to be heard. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and have seen the Mirjote Block grow. It’s just a place where people work hard to get things sent out to different places.
