Jhargram Rice Mill

We are located over in Balaramdihi, which is part of the Paschim Midnapur district. If you know the area, it is mostly quiet until the trucks start moving in the morning. This mill has been part of the landscape here for a long time. It’s an old-fashioned way of working, really. We spend most of our time dealing with the grain and making sure the machinery is running like it should. It gets very loud inside when everything is going at once. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few local guys who know the machines inside and out. Some days we are buried in work and other days we are just waiting for the next load to arrive. Midnapur has a lot of mills, but we just focus on our own corner here in Balaramdihi. The walls of the building are a bit dusty and the roof might leak a little when the rain is heavy, but it gets the job done. We don't bother with corporate talk or fancy presentations. People come here because they know where we are. We've been through a lot of seasons here. Some years the crop is good and we are working late every night. Other years are leaner. It is just the way things go in this business. We are just a local mill trying to keep things moving along. There is always a lot to clean up when the shift ends, but we don't mind the mess much.
