Our office is tucked away on Kerdih Road in the village of Bharadaj Pally. It’s a quiet spot out here in Burnpur, away from the main rush of the bigger cities. Being in the Bardhaman district means we are surrounded by a lot of farming activity, which makes sense for what we do with agroresearch. The building isn’t hard to find if you know the village. It’s a local place where everyone kind of knows everyone else. We spend our days looking into different agricultural things, trying to figure out what works. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the weather is dry, but that’s just part of living in the village. We have a simple setup inside with enough space for our research materials and some basic equipment. It’s a regular workday for us, starting early when the sun comes up. Most of the folks working here are from around the area, so there’s a lot of local talk during lunch breaks. We aren't doing anything flashy, just the day-to-day grind of studying crops and soil. Burnpur has its own rhythm, and we’ve fit right into it over the years. The office is practical, with old wooden desks and stacks of papers that never seem to go away. The ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps us cool enough when we're going over the research notes. We usually take a break when the mail comes by just to see who’s passing through the village today.
