Ekta Prathmik Shala

Ekta Prathmik Shala is tucked away inside the Nandigram Housing Society in Nanded. Because we are in a housing society, the atmosphere is a bit different from schools on the main road. It is generally quieter, and we have to be mindful of the residents living nearby. The address is 431605 if you are looking on a map. We are a primary school, so we deal with very young children. They are full of energy and sometimes it is hard to keep them in their seats. The classrooms are small and decorated with drawings the kids have made themselves. We have a little bit of space outside where they play, but it isn't a huge field. The teachers are mostly women from the local area who know the parents well. We spend a lot of time teaching the basics like counting and the alphabet. The building is just a simple structure that fits into the residential feel of Nandigram. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a light bulb flickers, and we just fix it when we can. It is a very community-oriented school where everyone knows everyone else. We just focus on the kids and making sure they show up on time and do their work every single morning.
