Sharma Farms

We’ve been running Sharma Farms for a good while now. It sits right near Hotel Gold, which makes it pretty easy for folks to find us when they’re coming through. Most days start early, before the sun really gets high. There’s always something that needs doing, whether it’s checking on the gates or just walking the perimeter to see how things are holding up. It’s not a fancy place, just a working farm where we put in the hours. People often ask if it gets noisy being near the hotel, but honestly, you get used to the traffic and the coming and going. The soil here has its good years and its bad years, like anywhere else. We don’t really do the big fancy advertisements you see in the city. Mostly, people just know us because we’ve been here. It’s a lot of physical work, and sometimes the weather doesn’t play nice, but that’s just how it goes when you’re dealing with land. My father used to say that the land knows who is working it, and I think he was right. We keep the equipment in the shed and try to keep things organized, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the harvest times when everyone is rushing around. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing day by day.
