Mahalaxmi Marble & Tiles

We've been running Mahalaxmi Marble & Tiles on Kalka Shimla Road for a while now. Being near the Radheshyam Gaushala makes us pretty easy to find if you're driving by. My family started this place because folks around here needed a reliable spot for their floors. It’s not a fancy operation. We spend most of our time out in the yard moving marble slabs around. It gets quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up off the road, but that's just part of the job. Sometimes the traffic on Kalka Shimla Road is a real headache, particularly in the mornings when everyone is heading towards the hills. We keep the doors open regardless. We don't have one of those polished showrooms with bright lights and fancy coffee. It’s just us and stacks of tiles and marble. If you walk in, you'll probably catch me or one of the guys checking the edges of a new shipment. We've seen this area change quite a bit over the years. Most people stop in when they are fixing up a bathroom or finally finishing that kitchen project. We just try to get the orders sorted and make sure the delivery truck can actually find your house without getting stuck in a narrow lane. It’s basic, honest work. We don't do big meetings or corporate stuff. We just look at the stone, check for cracks, and help people load up their trucks. Sometimes we run out of a certain color, but that’s just how it goes with stock. It’s just life on the way to Shimla.
