About Shivam Steel – Metals & Minerals in Panchkula
If you walk down Shukul Kund Road toward Bans Bazar, you’ll find Shivam Steel. It’s a noisy spot because we are constantly moving metal around. We deal with various types of steel, mostly for builders and local contractors who need things cut or delivered. The shop is full of rods, sheets, and pipes leaning against the walls. You have to watch your step when you come in. There’s usually a bit of rust on the floor and the smell of cut iron in the air. We don't have any air conditioning or a fancy waiting area. Most people just pull up their trucks out front and we load them up right there on the road. It’s a busy market area, so parking is always a bit of a nightmare. We’ve been in Bans Bazar for quite a while now and we know most of the other shopkeepers around here. Our days start early when the first trucks arrive. We don't use a lot of technology; it’s mostly just tape measures, saws, and a lot of heavy lifting. It’s honest work that leaves your hands dirty at the end of the day. We don't do much talking or sales pitches. People come in, ask for a price per kilo or a specific length, and we get it done for them. It’s a basic operation but it keeps the local construction projects going.
