Avon General Store

I have been running Avon General Store for a while now in the village of Maranwala. We are located right near the post office in Tehsil Kalka, District Panchkula. It’s not far from Baddi, so we get people stopping in on their way home from the factories there. The shop is small and sometimes the shelves get a bit disorganized when we are busy. I try to keep a bit of everything, like soap, biscuits, and basic groceries. Sometimes the power goes out, which makes it hard to see in the back of the store, but we just use a torch. It’s a very local kind of place where I know most of the customers by their first names. We hear all the local gossip while people are waiting for their change. I spend my afternoons unpacking boxes and trying to find space for new stock. The building is simple and doesn't have any air conditioning, so we keep the door open for the breeze. I don't use any fancy computers, just a notebook to keep track of things. Sometimes the kids from the village come in with just a few coins for candy. It’s a slow-paced life, but it keeps me busy enough. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. People just know we are here. It’s a practical little shop serving the village, and that’s pretty much all there is to it.
