Shiv Gagna School

If you head out to Sondh Village, you’ll find us near the Sondh Post Office. We are in the Hodal Tehsil area, quite close to the Hodal Bus Stand. Being so close to the bus stand means there’s always a bit of a buzz around the school with people coming and going. The village setting is nice and a bit quieter than the big cities, though you still get the sound of tractors and buses passing by. Our building is a simple one-story structure mostly, with a few extra rooms added on as we needed them. The kids come from all over the village and some of the neighboring areas too. They usually arrive with dusty shoes from walking the village paths. We have a small open area where they can run around during their breaks. The classrooms are basic with wooden benches and blackboards that have been used for many years. We don't have any high-tech equipment or fancy labs. It’s just us, the students, and their books. The teachers are mostly local people who understand the village life well. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or two, but we just keep the windows open and carry on with the lessons. It’s a slow-paced but steady kind of life here at Shiv Gagna. We just aim to provide a local place where the children can learn their basics without having to travel too far from home.
