Super Steel is right in the heart of the Sojat City Main Market. If you’ve ever walked through there, you know how packed it gets with people, cows, and motorbikes all fighting for a bit of space on the narrow road. Our shop is filled with the constant sound of metal hitting metal. We have stacks of steel sheets, heavy rods, and various kitchen items piled up high on the shelves. It’s a noisy place to work, but you get used to the clanging and the shouting after a while. The air always smells a bit like iron and street dust. We don't have any air conditioning, so we just leave the front wide open to catch whatever breeze comes through the market during the day. People come in looking for all sorts of things, from a simple bucket to heavy-duty pipes for a construction project. I spend a lot of time measuring things out and cutting them to size for customers who know exactly what they want down to the last millimeter. The floor is concrete and pretty worn down from years of dragging heavy steel stuff across it. We have an old wooden stool behind the counter that’s seen better days, but it’s where I sit when things quiet down for five minutes. Dealing with the market crowd can be exhausting, and the bargaining never really stops, but it’s just the life of a shopkeeper here. We focus on getting the right pieces out to the people who need them and keeping the inventory from getting too messy.
