Madan Lohar

If you go to the Sadri Main Bus Stand, you’ll find us there. Madan Lohar is basically just a small workshop where we work with metal. It’s a noisy place because the buses are always coming and going, and we are usually hammering something. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. Our hands are usually black from the soot and the metal, but that’s just how it goes. We’ve been at the bus stand for years. It’s a good spot because people from all the surrounding villages pass through here. They bring us tools that need fixing or ask us to make things for their homes and farms. We don't have a computer or a website. If you want to talk to us, you just show up at the shop. We have a fire going most days and a lot of heavy tools lying around. It gets very hot in the summer, but we just keep working through it. We don't have a sales team or any brochures. We just show people what we’ve made and they decide if they want it. It’s honest work. We aren't trying to be the biggest workshop in the country. We just want to make sure the things we build are strong and that they last for the people who use them. People in Sadri know us, and that's enough for us. We just keep our heads down and hit the iron.
