Shiv Shakti Sales is tucked away at number 223 on Station Road, right near the Police Line Road intersection. It’s a busy corner. In the mornings when the shifts change at the station, people are rushing to catch their trains. You can hear the whistles from the tracks if the wind is blowing the right way. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside. Just a standard storefront with some displays that we try to keep neat, though the dust from the road makes it a constant battle every single day. We’ve got a lot of items packed into a small space, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over when you’re walking through the narrow aisles. I’ve been working here for a good while, and I know every single creak in the floorboards. We usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background to drown out the traffic noise and the honking outside. The light in the back room flickers sometimes, and we keep saying we’ll fix it, but there’s always a customer waiting or a delivery truck pulling up at the curb. It’s a decent place to spend the day, even if it gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. We know most of the people who walk past our door by their first name, and that makes the long hours feel a bit shorter. We just open up the shutters, do our work, and head home when the sun finally goes down.
