Ramdev Kirana Store

Ramdev Kirana Store is just a local grocery spot in Tagor Nagar. We’ve got the basics like flour, pulses, and spices in those big open bags. The smell of turmeric and dried chilies is pretty strong when you first walk in. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze between the sacks of grain and the racks of biscuits, but we manage. My kids sometimes hang around after school, so you might see a schoolbag sitting on a crate. We open early because that’s when the milk delivery comes and the neighbors want their tea leaves and sugar. The floor is concrete and gets a bit dusty from the street, but I sweep it out every few hours. I don’t use a computer for the accounts, just a thick notebook and a pen that I keep behind my ear. It works well enough for me. If the weather is nice, I leave the front wide open so the air moves through. When it rains, we have to pull the shutter down halfway to keep the bags dry. People come in to complain about the prices of onions or just to see who else is around. It’s a quiet life mostly. We don’t do deliveries or anything, people just stop by on their way home from work. It’s been this way for a long time now.
