Purushotam Kirana Store

Down at Shivaji Nagar C S 161, you’ll find Purushotam Kirana Store. It’s been our family’s life for a long time. It’s a basic grocery shop, nothing more and nothing less. We stock the usual stuff like lentils, rice, spices, and whatever else the families in the neighborhood need for their daily meals. The aisles are a bit narrow and the bags are often stacked high, so you have to be careful not to bump into things. We know most of the kids who come in for a piece of candy after school and their parents who come in for the weekly supplies. It's a loud place sometimes, especially in the evenings when everyone gets off work. We don't have fancy scanners or a big computer system. We mostly do things the old way, with a notebook and a pen. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next delivery truck, but people are usually patient. It’s a neighborhood spot where news gets shared over the counter. We’ve been at this Shivaji Nagar address through all kinds of weather. It’s just hard work and being part of the community. We aren't looking to be the biggest store in town, just a reliable one for the people living right here. We hope to stay here for many more years to come.
