Public Academy Of Computer Education (PACE)

Our place is located right at number 27 in Devji Ka Bass which is very close to the Somnath Temple. You can usually hear the bells from the temple if you listen closely during the quiet hours of the morning. Public Academy Of Computer Education, or PACE as most people end up calling it, is where we spend most of our time sitting in front of monitors. The room is filled with the sound of clicking keyboards and the low hum of CPU fans running all at once. We have rows of desks with old and new computers mixed together. The walls are pretty plain except for a few diagrams showing how a motherboard works or shortcut keys for typing. Students come and go throughout the day, some staying for an hour and others lingering much longer to finish their practice. The flooring is just basic tile that we have to mop quite often because of all the foot traffic. We keep a water cooler in the corner that always seems to need a refill by midday. It isn't a high-tech lab from a movie, just a practical space where people come to learn how to use software or improve their typing speed. The lighting is bright enough to see the keys but not so much that it hurts your eyes after a long session. Sometimes we have to reboot things when the power flutters but that is just part of living in this neighborhood. We are just a group of people who know our way around a PC and try to help others get the hang of it too.
