Om Fancy & General Store

Om Fancy & General Store is located right on Sardar Samand Road where the traffic never really seems to stop. All day long you can hear the trucks and motorcycles zooming past the front door, which brings a lot of dust inside the shop. I spend a fair amount of time with a rag trying to keep the glass cases clean so people can see the bangles, clips, and other small items inside. It is a bit of a mix of everything in here, from sewing thread to small toys and things for the house. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling so I have to use a rickety wooden stool to reach the stuff at the top. Sardar Samand Road is a busy place to be, and sometimes people just duck in to get away from the sun for a few minutes. The shop isn't very organized in a way that makes sense to everyone, but I know exactly where every little packet of pins or bottle of oil is hidden. The bells on the door jingle every time someone walks in, which is a sound I hear in my sleep sometimes. It is just a small business trying to keep up with the people passing by on their way to other places. I keep the fancy items in the front because they catch the light, even if the light is just from the dusty street outside. It is honest work and it keeps me busy from morning until late evening.
