Montu Nasta House

Our place, Montu Nasta House, is located right on Punayata Road near the Ram Rahim Colony area. It’s not a huge spot, but it’s where we spend most of our hours every day. We start setting things up quite early because the morning crowd is always looking for something to eat before they head off to their jobs or schools. The stove stays on for most of the morning and the steam fills up the front area. We see a lot of the same faces from the colony every single day. Some people just stop for a quick bite while standing near their scooters, and others take stuff packed in paper to eat at home. The road can get quite dusty and loud with all the traffic passing by, but we are used to it by now. We don't have fancy chairs or a big menu with too many things. We just make what people in this part of town usually ask for. It gets a bit quiet in the afternoons, so that is when we usually clean up and prepare for the next day. Working here means you see a lot of the neighborhood life happening right in front of you. We are just a small part of this street. There’s no big secret to how we run things, we just show up and cook. It’s practical work and it keeps us busy from dawn till we close up for the night.
