Monarch Food Plaza

Monarch Food Plaza is out on Sumerpur Road. Because we are on the main road, we get a mix of local people and people who are just driving through to get to the next town. The space is a bit larger than some of the shops in the center of the city, which is good because it gives people some room to breathe. We have a simple setup with tables and chairs where people can sit for a while. It’s not a fancy restaurant, just a place to get a meal. The traffic on Sumerpur Road is constant, and you can hear the trucks going by all day and night. We have to keep the place running for long hours to catch the travelers. The kitchen is always busy with someone prepping vegetables or cleaning the large pots we use. We don’t have a big fancy menu, just the standard food that fills you up. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to manage with what we have, but that’s just life on the road. We are just a group of people working together to keep the plaza going. There aren't any big bosses in suits here. We just wear our aprons and get to work every morning. It’s a practical business for a busy road and we stay here until late most nights. The road lights and our own bulbs keep the place visible for people looking to rest.
