Mateshwari Tifin Points

Our place is over at Krishi Mandi in Marudhar Nagar, right at number 164. It is a busy area especially when the market is open and trucks are coming in and out. We spend most of our time in the kitchen area getting things ready. It starts very early when most people are still sleeping because the tiffins have to be packed and sent out on time. There is a lot of chopping and cooking that goes on. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that, just the workspace where we get the meals done. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with all the containers clanking together but that’s just how it is. We’ve seen this neighborhood change quite a bit over the years but the Mandi stays just as active as ever. People come by to pick up their food or we send it out to the workers nearby who don’t have time to go home for lunch. It’s hard work and your hands get tired by the end of the shift but we are used to it. We keep our space clean and just focus on the daily tasks. It isn't a complicated business, just making sure people have something to eat during their break. We have a few people helping out and we all just know our roles. It’s a lot of washing up to do at the end of the day too but we manage it.
