Mahalaxmi Sahoo Chaat Corner

We are tucked away at Ramdev Road Vivekanand Colony 68, which is more of a neighborhood spot than anything else. Mahalaxmi Sahoo Chaat Corner is basically where we set up every day to serve the local families. The colony is usually quiet in the afternoons, but once the schools are out and people get off work, Ramdev Road starts to fill up. We have our small cart and a couple of tables set out on the side. Sometimes the neighbors complain if the crowd gets too big or blocks the way, so we try to keep things orderly. It is a lot of chopping and prep work before we even open. The smell of the spices usually lets people know we are ready. We have a small light that flickers a bit when the wind blows too hard. It’s a simple setup and we don't have a menu printed out or anything like that. People just ask what we have made for the day. We have been at this spot for a good bit of time now and we know most of the kids who come by after their cricket games. It is just our way of making a living in Vivekanand Colony. When it rains, we have to pack up quickly and move everything under the small porch. We wait for the clouds to pass and then we might open up again if it is not too late for the evening snacks.
