Laxmi General Store

Being at the Rohat New Bus Stand at 15/25 means we see a lot of different faces every single day. The store is right where the buses pull in and out so it is never really quiet. We keep things that travelers might need, like water bottles, biscuits, small toys for children, and basic toiletries. It is a small space so we have to be clever about how we stack the chips and the drink crates. The dust from the bus stand comes in no matter how much we sweep. It’s a fast-paced kind of place because people are always in a hurry to catch their ride. They run in, grab a packet of tobacco or a cold soda, and run back out. We don’t have much time for long talks but we see the same bus drivers every day. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a torch to find things on the back shelves. It is a bit chaotic when three buses arrive at the same time and everyone wants change at once. We just handle it one person at a time. The floor is concrete and a bit worn down from all the feet walking through. It’s just a regular shop serving whoever passes through the station. We stay open late because the last bus doesn't get in until after dark. It's a busy corner to spend your time in.
