Khetlaji Kirana Store

Khetlaji Kirana Store is a small family-run shop on Ramdev Road. We carry the usual things you’d expect from a local grocery, like dal, rice, spices, and cooking oil. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every bit of wall space for shelving. It’s been here for years and we serve the families living on Ramdev Road and the nearby lanes. I usually open up early in the morning so people can get milk or bread before they start their day. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the morning and evening rushes. I like chatting with the customers; we talk about the weather or the local news while I weigh out their sugar or flour. We still use manual scales for some things because that’s how we’ve always done it. My son helps me with the heavy lifting when the delivery trucks arrive. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cluttered with boxes but we manage to keep it going. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. Everyone around here just knows Khetlaji is the place to go if you run out of salt or need some fresh snacks. It’s a basic neighborhood store and we try to keep the prices fair for everyone who lives nearby. It is just a regular part of life here on Ramdev Road for us and our neighbors who visit every day.
