Kethaji Pan Bhandar

Kethaji Pan Bhandar is just a small corner at Guljar Chowk 29. If you know this area, you know it stays busy until very late at night. We don’t need much space to do what we do. Our counter is filled with different containers and leaves that we use throughout the day. People come by for a pan after they finish their dinner at the nearby stalls. It’s a lot of standing and talking to whoever stops by. The chowk is always full of movement, and we sit right in the middle of it. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with the bikes and the people walking past, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. We don’t have a big staff, it’s mostly just us handling the orders one by one. We’ve seen the buildings around us change over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. We don’t use any special machines, just our hands and the ingredients we get every morning. It’s a simple way to earn a living. Most of our regulars don’t even have to say what they want, we already know. We just keep the lights on and wait for the evening rush to start. It’s honest work and we don’t try to make it seem like anything more than it is. Just a pan shop at the chowk where people come to talk and then move on.
