Kanstiya Halwa Wala

Out here in Surajpole, Kanstiya Halwa Wala has been a part of the daily routine for many. We start the fires early in the morning to get the halwa going. It takes time to get the texture right, so we don't rush it. The shop isn't very large, but we make it work. Surajpole is a lively area and there’s always noise from the street. We talk to the customers, mostly about the weather or local news. It’s a friendly place. We don't use fancy packaging, just the basic stuff. If you're looking for us, just head towards Surajpole and look for the steam from the big pots. We'll be there, same as always, just doing our thing and keeping the tradition alive in our own small way. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. People know the smell of our halwa from a distance.
