Right in the middle of the Sojat City Main Bazar you’ll find our shop, and it gets quite loud here with all the bikes and people walking by. We have been Kaka Tasveer Wale for a long time now. Most days I am just sitting behind the counter or cutting wood for frames. It’s a bit messy with the sawdust and pieces of glass everywhere but that is how it goes. Customers come in with old photos of their grandparents or sometimes new posters they want to put up in their houses. Because the glue takes a while to dry when the weather is humid, we tell folks to come back later in the evening. There isn't much space inside because of all the frames leaning against the walls. A few prints of gods and local scenery are kept for sale too. The fan overhead makes a clicking sound, though it helps with the heat. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the stool for a bit. Our machines aren't fancy; we just use basic tools and our hands. Every morning the front gets a good sweep because the bazar dust is never-ending. People stop by just to chat sometimes while they wait for their pictures. It’s not some big company, just a small shop where we do our work day after day. Getting the corners of the frames to line up right is what we do. That’s pretty much the daily routine here.
