Hinglaj Kirana Store

Hinglaj Kirana Store is located on College Road in Sundar Nagar. Since it is near the college, we see a lot of young students coming in and out all day. They usually want snacks, cold drinks, or pens and notebooks. Then there are the local families who live in the back lanes of Sundar Nagar. They come for their monthly rations like rice, tea leaves, and washing powder. The shop isn't very large, so we have bags of grains stacked up high near the entrance. Sometimes it is hard to move around when a new delivery comes in and the crates are all over the floor. I usually start the day early to get the milk packets ready before the morning rush. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, making it quite warm inside, but the stone floor stays a bit cool. We don't have a computer or anything, just a simple notebook where I write things down if someone needs to pay me later. It’s a busy street with lots of horns honking and people walking by to catch the bus. We’ve got everything from matches to big bags of cattle feed tucked away in the corners. It is a bit cluttered, but I know exactly where every single item is kept on the wooden racks. Most people just shout their order from their scooters.
