About Hari Om Chat Cornar – Food & Beverages in Pali
We have been operating Hari Om Chat Cornar at number 78 in Paliwalon Ka Bas for some time. It is a small place, mostly just enough room for the stove and a few people to stand around. The smell of frying potatoes usually fills the air around four in the afternoon when I start getting things ready. It’s not a fancy restaurant where you sit down and have a waiter. People just stand on the street or lean against the wall while they eat. I spend a lot of time chopping onions and making sure the chutneys are ready before the evening rush starts. The floor stays a bit damp because we are always washing the metal plates in the back. It gets very crowded when the office workers come by on their way home. I don't really have a big sign, just the name written up there. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a small lamp to see what we are doing. My hands are always busy with the ladle or the spices. It’s a lot of work standing on my feet all day, but this is what I’ve been doing for years. Paliwalon Ka Bas is a busy area, so there is always some noise or someone calling out. We just try to get the food out as fast as we can without making too much of a mess.
