Deepak Provision Store

Deepak Provision Store is tucked away at Shivaji Nagar C S 101 and it has been sitting there for a good while now. Every morning starts about the same with the metal shutters rattling as they go up and the smell of the street coming inside. It is not a very big space but we try to keep the shelves full of the usual things people need like flour, soap, and tea. The floor has some cracks and the paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling but it doesn't bother the people who live around here in Shivaji Nagar. They just come in to get their daily supplies and maybe talk for a minute about the heat or the local news. I spend a lot of time counting out change and stacking boxes that arrive on the small delivery carts. The light inside is a bit dim because the bulbs are old but you can still see everything well enough. Sometimes the cows wander close to the entrance and I have to shoo them away so people can get inside. It is a simple life running a shop like this at C S 101. There isn't much to brag about, just a lot of bags and jars and the same faces coming through the door day after day. It gets dusty when the wind blows hard through the neighborhood but that is just how things are in this part of town. I just keep the books and make sure the items are on the shelf.
