Bhati General Store

Bhati General Store is located at Ramdev Road 124, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite some time. It’s a typical general store where you can find just about anything you’d need for your house on a daily basis. We keep the shelves packed with bags of flour, cooking oil, spices, and all kinds of soaps and detergents. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside sometimes because we try to fit a lot into a small space. We get many of the same families coming in every week, so we’ve gotten to know what everyone likes. In the afternoons, you’ll usually see a bunch of school kids hanging around the front looking for biscuits or some small sweets. We don't have any big computerized systems; we just write things down and know where everything is kept. The street outside can get quite busy, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they forgot to buy milk or tea leaves. My family helps me out with the shop, especially during the festival times when everyone is buying extra supplies. We don’t do any home deliveries or anything like that, but we are always here if you want to walk over. It’s a simple way of living, and we enjoy being the place where the neighbors meet and chat for a few minutes while they shop. We just try to keep the staples in stock and the prices fair for everyone.
