Welkin National School

Welkin National School is tucked away in the Durvas Complex in Vasai East. We occupy rooms 101, 106, and 30 in the O Wing. It is a bit different from a traditional school building because we are part of this larger complex on New Link Road. This means our students and staff are always moving through the corridors of the building. Palghar can be very humid, so the fans are always spinning in the classrooms. Because we are on the New Link Road, the area is very busy with shops and people going about their business. Our space is divided up into different sections of the wing, so you might have to walk a bit to get from one class to another. The rooms are decorated with drawings and papers that the children have done. We do not have a big open field, but we make use of the space we have within the complex. It gets quite noisy when the nearby shops open up in the morning. The parents usually drop their kids off right at the entrance of the O Wing. The elevators in the Durvas Complex can be a bit slow during the peak hours, so many of us just end up taking the stairs. It is a very urban kind of school life here in Vasai East. We deal with the usual problems of city life, like traffic and noise, but inside the rooms, we just focus on the books.
